We made it through our first birthday! We had a great weekend full of friends, presents and cake. Drew made a great show of diving into his cake. He enjoyed his chocolate cake. Probably too much. He had a good time playing in the water with his friends. It turned out to be a beautiful day and the water was great. He opened a few presents, but became distracted more and more so I ended up opening them. That's okay--I like opening presents! All in all, it was a great weekend.
We had a house full of company; Grammy Sherry, Aunt Morty and Uncle Bill, Grandma Chris and Papa Jr, Aunt Haley and Uncle Trevor & Tripp, Aunt Marilyn and Aunt Kelly all made the trip to see us. Thanks guys! Drew really enjoyed his company; despite the teething!
We'll do it again next year!

New Tooth!

This is me on my Birthday

I am now are the proud owner of 7 teeth! Well, 6 1/2 for a few days, until this one comes in. It was a rough weekend. There was a ton of family here--not sure why. All I know is people kept holding and touching me and I was just ticked off! Then there was this part where mom put a cake in front of my face and expected me to just dive in! Really! I get my hand slapped and 'the look' when I throw food on the floor during dinner. They let me do it at daycare (don't tell mom or dad) but not at home. She kept shoving my hand into it so I dove it. Man--that stuff was awesome! Maybe we'll have that for dinner tonight...

I also got a ton of new toys! I dont' know how to unwrap paper so mom just did it for me (thanks mom!). When I got up from my nap, there were all of these new toys! I really like this lawn mower thing that makes a LOT of noise when I push it. I probably wake up the people on the other side of the Earth w/ the racket that thing makes on the floor. Thanks aunt Haley!! I had a pretty good weekend all in all. Sunday, mom kept singing Happy Birthday (not sure what that was about; she's not the best singer) and I got more cake and ice cream. I love ice cream. But my mouth kept hurting so I wasn't too interested.

Oh---I fell yesterday and busted my chin. Ouch! It hurt really bad. I was just standing there, eating fruit off of the cooler and BAM! The next thing I knew, there was blood in my mouth and I had a hole in my tongue! Now, just so I dont' do it again, I play w/ my tongue sticking out of my mouth all of the time. it hurts, but it's getting better.

Mom's coming--I'd better go. Bye-Bye my peoples!

I do so solemly swear....

…..to update this blog more often. I’m terrible; a self-proclaimed blog dropout. But…..now I’m going to be better!

So much to update you on. We are walking now! Have been for about a month. Drew has no fear; he’s ready to leap without leaping off of any high surface. He hasn’t learned to climb yet (thank you!) but I know it’s soon.
We’ve got 6 teeth and use every bit of them. He’s eating all foods (and his fingers, occasionally) and loves milk. But our favorite food—bananas! (Drew talk=nana)
Our vocabulary has increased as well. His current words: mom, da-da, nana (banana), dog, duck (if you listen closely), mmmmmmo (what a cow says), dat (that), wow!, whoa. And we’re signing ‘more’. Yep I know—the smartest child alive. I’m not ashamed to admit it.
Drew is now a total blondie. I swear his hair gets lighter and lighter every day.
And for the grand finale…….we celebrate our bug Oh-One Sunday! We are having a Mickey Mouse-themed party complete w/ a pool. I know Drew’s super-excited. He’s getting a chocolate cake (dad’s idea) w/ lots of frosting! Yum! We are looking forward to a weekend full of cake, ice cream, swimming and sleeping.
